Anonymous’s Story

As a frontline worker helping unsupported young people navigate life from a tough start, I see the damage of the Partner Income Test in real time.

People who have had challenges, supporting each other through friendship and romance, somehow manage to scrap themselves together a decent job and a life together, only to find that they’re expected to support each other now, on far less income than that denied to them by their own parents.

It doesn’t save money, it just perpetuates the cycle of violence.
